Vexelove's Extra Feature
Who is "ZELenoglazka"? Could you tell us something about you?
"My name is Helen. I'm from Russia and I'm twenty one years old. I like digital art, music, movies and sport (skating, badminton and... frisbee!)
"ZELenoglazka" is an equivalent of "Green-eyed girl" in English. It's a Russian word written in English letters. I have green eyes, therefore I've chosen this nickname."
Why and when did you start appreciating art?
"I drew in pencil about 12 years (models, clothes). But once I saw DA's gallery (I don't remember.. I think it was "..wallpaper/vexel") and I thought: "Cool! What is VEXEL?? I have to join DA! I have to find out how they make these pieces!" So I've been vexeling since November 2007."
Do you look up to any artist in particular?
"There are a lot of artists on DA who inspire me, but one of the reasons I started vexeling/vectoring is that I've found the works of Jason Brooks on the Internet. He is a great man! His girls are gorgeous! I wish I could be as talented as him..."
How would you describe your art?
"As I can interpret my art - it's an elaborate mixture of emotions, details and colours."
What do you think differs your art from others?
"I think the main difference is the way I express people's emotions with colours and tints. You can see the dependence between feelings of featured character and colours of the piece."
What are you currently working on? What can we expect from you in future?
"I've just finished the portrait of Hugh Jackman and now I'm going to work on several vexels. One of them is a portrait of a girl, whose photo I've found on the Internet. I hope it will be tender and summer vexel. Something stunning!"
What are your 3 favourite deviations from your own gallery and why?
"I like them all, but my favourite are:"
"This is one of my first vexels. And I'm so happy it became so popular. It's like a sign of the beginning for me - The beginning of vexeling."
"This piece means too much for me, because I've made it in hard times of my life. That's why it looks really sad."
"One of my latest works. I am keen on it because of colours and style. And of course the photo was really admirable."
